For some of us, the beginning of this journey, as we learn to live in the power of the Spirit everyday may be met with some anxiety and frustration. It is difficult to learn the practice of release as we let go of our control and allow God to have His way in and through us in every moment.
As a practice, we have used this prayer to remind our hearts of God's presence among us and to invite the Spirit to lead and guide as He wills. Our hearts are prone to wander, but may they find rest in Him...
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
